The round shape is the sign that Mario Botta instinctively possesses, derived from many schematic, symbolic and volumetric components that manifest themselves through his pencil. Botta's iconic language uses hierarchies and elementary mental codes that refer to both conceptual and geometric components, allowing a direct reading of the form. The architect deals with three important and special relationships, all dedicated to sacred space and with the recurring geometry of the circle; in them emerges a return to certain fundamental human values that allow a vigorous response to current needs. The primary forms underline the difference between religion and poetry, between architecture and nature.
