Zileh
White, Blue, Red
The Sumakh technique is also used in the production of the classic drapes that are conventionally called sileh, consisting of two parts joined by a long longitudinal seam. In the more traditional version, two pairs of large, rigid S-shaped designs are aligned in four distinct rows, characterised by a dense indented profile, a decoration composed again of tiny polychrome S's and three distinct elements that make it possible to read in the S-shaped design the final version of the stylisation process of the traditional image of the dragon. The colours are as traditional as the red-pink design for the background, alternating blue and white in a chequered pattern for the background.
