Corals II

A prodigious hallucination that lifts the gaze to the south. With this carpet, Ettore Mochetti designs an evocation that comes from a representation. In the aesthetic synthesis of the pointed coral we find the plastic contours of something that is not fully consumed in the external and all too easy definition of exoticism, but rather seems to open the gaze to a symbolism of memory, to the purest suggestion of young men facing an initiation rite. Thus, design is primarily emphasised as the tension of an environment beyond space, a dèjà-vu, a daily flight. Coral, silhouetted against orange and turquoise or a scale of greys, is the floating icon through which seasons of artists translated the extent of the same mystery.
